OUR HISTORY

WHERE WE COME FROM, WHO WE ARE AND WHERE WE ARE GOING

ACTIVITIES

We are promoters of the culture of encounter, of dialogue and we support the development of friendly relations across borders.

The Association is committed to the study, remembrance and appreciation of the work, life and thought of Giorgio Pressburger, one of the most significant figures on the Italian and international cultural scene of the 20th century, through the promotion and organisation of cultural initiatives in Italy and abroad. As a reference point in the area, the Association plays an active role in the development of Italian-Hungarian relations and in general with the countries of the Central European area, promoting understanding between peoples, collaboration between nations and fostering cultural, scientific, tourist, commercial and economic relations.

IN THE HEART OF MITTELEUROPA

Halfway Between Budapest and Rome

Strategically located, the Association is based in Trieste, ‘a city halfway between Budapest and Rome’, where Giorgio Pressburger has lived and worked since 1975. The Association is active on an international level.

It collaborates with institutions, foundations, universities, study and research centres, companies and enterprises in Italy and around the world, implementing transnational initiatives and projects that actively promote the culture of encounter and dialogue, thereby supporting the development of friendly relations across borders.

"To make one's own culture known means offering others the totality of our being. Why? For the better knowledge and acceptance of us by others, and for our better knowledge and acceptance of others. That, in my opinion, is the meaning of our existence. To appear on the horizon of others, to make the horizon of others appear before us. Being One For The Other."
