A meeting with Professor Tadahiko Wada

A pleasant meeting with Professor Tadahiko Wada was held in Bologna to discuss about Giorgio Pressburger and the future projects of the Association, with a focus on Japan. Professor Wada, the translator of, among others, Italo Calvino, Umberto Eco and Antonio Tabucchi, donated to the G.P. Collection a copy of his article dedicated to “Stories from the Eighth District”, now included in his book “The Voice, As Not Meaning”, enriched with a dedication to Giorgio Pressburger. During the meeting, Prof. Wada shared the main first-hand experiences with some great figures of literature, such as Italo Calvino, Andrea Zanzotto, but also Claudio Magris, Imre Kertész, and Giorgio Pressburger.

A toast with Giorgio

In Budapest, at the prestigious venue of the Italian Cultural Institute, in the presence of Francesco Russo, the vice president of the FVG regional council, which also brought a greeting from President Bordin, on the occasion of the launch of the new website www.giorgiopressburger.eu, was presented the activity of the association which takes its name from the writer, director and playwright who is the emblem of the relationship that links Trieste, the region Friuli Venezia Giulia and Italy with Hungary. In the presence of the Italian ambassador Manuel Jacoangeli, the director of the Italian Cultural Institute Gabriele La Posta, the vice-president of Confindustria Hungary Alessandro Farina, the CEO of Adria Port Zrt. Péter Esterházy’s Dedication

The book “Egy nö” with the dedication “As a token of friendship and goodwill”, by the writer Péter Esterházy to his friend Giorgio Pressburger, becomes part of the G.P. Collection. Esterházy was a Hungarian writer and mathematician, descended from one of the noblest and oldest aristocratic families. The Pressburger Collection is enriched with a work by Tobia Ravá

The Pressburger Collection is enriched by an important new work, created and donated by the Italian artist Tobia Ravà, who now lives and works in Venice. The work dedicated to Pressburger, called “VENTI DI PAROLE” 2024, a UV-catalysation on opaque mirrored aluminium, now becomes part of the Collection and the related exhibition organised by the Association. The artist has been exhibiting his works since 1977 in Italy and abroad, in well-known galleries and museums. Among many others, he has exhibited at the Olympic Fine Arts in Beijing, the Galerie Am Park in Frankfurt, the Sist’Art Gallery in Venice, the Ermanno Tedesco Gallery in Tel Aviv, Rome and Milan, the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, the HUC-JIR Museum in New York and at the Venice Art Biennale. He is also present in both private and public collections in Europe, the United States, South America and the Far East.

Box set: Sul fondo della coscienza (In the depth of the consciousness)

A publishing event of international scope, to remember and celebrate one of Italy’s (and Europe’s) greatest intellectuals and writers: Giorgio Pressburger. Luce-Cinecittà brings together in one special box set the three films that director Mauro Caputo has dedicated to Pressburger’s personal, intellectual and visionary life. Under the title “Sul fondo della coscienza” (In the Depth of the Consciousness) three films are released: L’orologio di Monaco (2014, presented at the Rome Film Festival), Il profumo del tempo delle favole (2016, Venice International Film Festival – Venice Days, awarded a Special Silver Ribbon for Lifetime Achievement to Pressburger), La legge degli spazi bianchi (2019, 76th Venice International Film Festival – Venice Days, finalist candidate for the Nastri d’Argento DOC 2020), three titles that succeeded in describing with visionary power and with the voice of its protagonist, the journey of a man whose knowledge and multifaceted career embraced centuries of knowledge, cultures, perspectives.
